The Italian Embassy at Clemente Fabres 1050 in the Providencia district of Santiago represents Italy's interests in Chile. The Italian-Chilean relationship has a uniquely strong people-to-people dimension: Chile has one of the largest Italian-descendant communities in South America, with millions of Chileans tracing their ancestry to Italian immigrants who settled primarily in the Valparaíso region, Santiago, and southern Chile. Italian companies have a significant presence in the Chilean economy — Enel is one of the country's largest electricity distributors through Enel Chile, and Italian fashion, food, and automotive brands enjoy strong recognition. The embassy supports consular services for the large Italian community and promotes bilateral trade and cultural exchange.
